Qoya Inspired

Movement

Qoya - meaning Queen in Quechua (an ancient indigenous language used by shamans in South America) is a movement practice originally designed for women, based on the idea that through movement we remember that our essence is Wise, Wild and Free! It incorporates the ancient system of yoga, feminine movement and free dance and draws on shamanic traditions. Through Qoya we are able to spend less time living in our heads and more time connecting to our bodies.

We move to music, specifically selected to reflect the theme of each session… there is no way you can do Qoya wrong and the way you know that you are doing it right is that it feels good… it’s ALL about how it feels, not about how it looks.

Moving our bodies through the different stages of a Qoya class, can help us to access the wellspring of wisdom that resides in each of us as well as the ancestral wisdom that came before us. Once we connect to this … well, this practice is nothing short of transformative.
Qoya is a way of connecting to how we feel, to ourselves, to our hearts, to others…there really is nothing else like it!
